Camera 18 Privacy Policy
The short version: Camera 18 does not collect, upload, sell, or share your photos, videos, location, device identifiers, or usage data. Everything you shoot and every style you apply is processed and stored entirely on your iPhone. The developer operates no servers that receive your data.

1. Scope
This policy describes how Camera 18 (bundle ID com.cornpiess.camera18) handles data involved when you use the app on your iPhone, including the camera feed, photos you take, your photo library, files you import, and local settings.
2. We do not collect your data
The developer has no account system, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no user database. The app makes no network requests on its own, and we do not receive your photos, videos, precise location, device identifiers, contacts, or usage records. We do not engage in cross-app or cross-site tracking.
3. Data processed only on your device
| Data | Purpose | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Camera feed (live viewfinder) | Previewing and capturing photos in real time | Device memory only; never recorded or transmitted |
| Photos you take | Saving to your photo library at your request and displaying your recent shots in the app | Your iOS photo library and the app's local sandbox |
| Film-camera styles, LUTs, and your adjustments (e.g., LUT intensity, aperture settings) | Rendering the film look you choose | App local sandbox |
| Style/profile files you import via the file picker | Applying custom looks you bring in yourself | App local sandbox; the file is never uploaded |
| Local settings and a local diagnostic log | Remembering your preferences and helping you troubleshoot on-device | App local sandbox (Documents folder); not sent anywhere |
| Free-trial shot counts (how many free shots you have used per camera) | Keeping your remaining free trial shots stable across launches | Device Keychain (on-device only); never uploaded |
| Subscription status (Camera 18 Pro) | Deciding which cameras you may shoot with | Verified on-device through Apple's StoreKit; we receive no purchase history |
4. System permissions
- Camera: used for the live viewfinder and to take photos. The camera feed is never stored except when you explicitly take a photo.
- Add Photos (write-only access to your library): used solely to save the photos you take into your photo library.
- Photo Library read access: used to show your recently taken photos inside the app.
- File picker (on demand): opened only when you choose to import a custom style/LUT file. The app reads only the file you select.
- Not requested: Camera 18 never asks for microphone, location, contacts, health, or Bluetooth permissions.
You can review, change, or revoke these permissions anytime in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera / Photos. Revoking them disables the related features but does not delete your photos.
5. Third-party services
Camera 18 has no third-party data processing of its own. When you tap links inside the app (for example, this privacy policy or the support page), your system browser connects to the corresponding web page and its hosting service. That hosting provider may receive standard web-request data such as your IP address; Camera 18 never attaches your photos or personal data to those requests.
Purchases (Camera 18 Pro): the optional subscription is billed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. Payment processing, receipts, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer receives no purchase history, no payment details, and no identity data — the app only asks your device, via Apple's StoreKit, whether an active subscription exists.
6. No sharing, selling, or tracking
We do not sell personal data, do not use it for targeted advertising, do not share it with data brokers, and do not use cross-app or cross-site tracking technologies.
7. Retention and deletion
- Photos you take are saved to your photo library and remain under your control there, just like any other photo.
- Local settings, imported style files, and the local diagnostic log stay in the app's sandbox until you delete the app or reset them.
- Uninstalling Camera 18 removes its sandbox data. It does not delete photos already saved in your photo library.
- Because the developer holds no server-side user data, there is normally nothing the developer can delete on your behalf; if you have questions, contact us by email.
8. Your choices and rights
You can revoke permissions at any time in iOS Settings, delete photos from the Photos app, remove imported styles and local data by uninstalling the app, and contact us with any access, correction, deletion, or complaint request. We will handle it in accordance with applicable law.
9. Children's privacy
Camera 18 is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since the developer receives no data from the app, photos taken by a child stay on the device where they were taken.
10. Security
Because all processing is local, your photos never pass through the developer's servers, which removes the most common exposure risk. Data on your device remains subject to your device passcode, iOS security, and your Apple ID protections.
11. Changes to this policy
If features, third-party services, or legal requirements change, we will update this policy's date and content and provide the latest version on this page. If we ever add photo uploads, remote analytics, or any other data collection, we will clearly explain it and obtain your consent where required before enabling it.
